Saint Restituta Sanctuary

Probably Saint Restituta Sanctuary is made out a Paleo-Christian Basilica of the 4th – 5th century, and in 1036, on these ruins, was built the new church, the so-called "big church". This construction was modified in 1300;  renovated in 1700; finally it was rebuilt, as it is now, after the earthquake of 1883 and it was reopened on July 2nd, 1886.  The facade was built in 1910.
In the sanctuary there is a marble altar from Rosary Church which was destroyed. On this altar there is a

recent canvas, representing Our Lady of Carmine, Saint Augustin and Saint Restituta. This is a Luca Giordano’s canvas copy, that is in Saint Restituta Church
  in Naples.
Next to this canvas there are two pictures, attributed to Filippo Balbi (19th century.).
On the walls there are some canvases, painted by Francesco Mastroianni, and representing the main episodes of Saint Restituta’s martyrdom.
Now the little church or Saint Restituta Chapel has an added floor and it is made with rough clay slabs and it is next to the "big church". In this church there is an altar with a beautiful inlay marble altar, upon that there is a niche with the saint’s wooden golden bust, made in 1500. Under the altar, in an urn, there are the saint’s remains.
