" ‘ Ndrezzata" is an ancient popular Ischian
dance. It is danced at Buonopane, an outlying ward of Barano, on
the parvis of St. John Baptist Church.
There are eighteen/twenty people with "mazzarielli" and wooden
swords, dressed with typical customs, that create history-legend
rhythms. So this is a beautiful performance.
The origins of this dance are not very clear. Some people think that" 'ndrezzata" has ancient Greek origins. |
