Holy Announced in Saint Mary of Graces Church

It is a simple church, which first was called "Fishermen’s church".
In the hall there is a shapeless marble statue which represents Heracles. This statue is surmounted by a pier for holy water.
It is also interesting the wooden pulpit built in the fifteenth century.

 

 Saint Restituta Sanctuary

This sanctuary was erected on an early Christian basilica, built between the fourth and the fifth century.
In 1036 on these ruins a new church was built. In 1300 it was modified and in 1700 it was renovated. But in 1883 this church was destroyed by an earthquake and then it was rebuilt. 

 

Assumption of Holy Mary Church

The ancient church was destroyed in 1883 by an earthquake, but now its ruins are next to the present construction which was built in the second half of 1600. 
This church is famous for “The Angel Race” performance.

 

Saint Rocco and Pio Monte di Sant'Anna Quarter Church
Via San Rocco

This church is mentioned in a document written in 1542.
The "Lo Lacco" University had the patronage law.
The present construction is the result of a renovation started in 1970.
It is important the artistic portal built in the seventeenth century. 

 

Holy Announced Church 
Via Fundera

A little rural church called “Santissima Nunciata del Casal dello Lacco" had already existed in 1400.  In 1540, thanks to Sir Aniello Monte, this construction was extended and renovated; then between 1750 and 1754 it was adorned with plasters, statues and pictures. 
 

Saint Joseph Church
Via Fango

It is in the quarter of Fango.
Since 1714 the Verdi family from Forio have had the patronage law, but this church was built first. Moreover the present construction with the high bell tower was renovated in the '60s.

 

Calise Piro Chapel
Via Circumvallazione

   
 
 

This chapel, situated on Circumvallazione street, was built in 1893.  They are important the picture representing the Mercy and Saint Anna and the statues of Saint Andrew Apostle.
